I know there are some of you just like me. Late to the game on the Air Fryer. I always thought I could get by with a fry basket that cost $10 at Walmart or even just a baking sheet with my oven on convection. But let me tell you this — my WW world has changed since I broke down and ordered an Air Fryer!
My daughter loves it so much she said its all she needs to live one – No additional kitchen appliance needed!
So, WHY use an air fryer?
How does an air fryer work?
The air fryer is essentially a very convenient, space saving countertop convection oven. Its compact space makes it a must have for crispy items in the kitchen. The top “fryer” holds a heating mechanism and a fan that push hot air down and around food placed in a fryer basket. The rapid circulation makes the food crisp, much like deep frying but without all the WW points or fat from oil.
There are many items that work beautifully in the air fryer. Some of my favorites are chicken patties, waffles, cauliflower pizza, Naan bread with a little butter spray and garlic powder, chick peas, Kielbasa and much more!

SO do I NEED this device?
In my opinion, this is a must have. When on any diet journey, making food taste like the real thing is key in staying satisfied and essentially successful on your weight loss journey. When you’re cooking things like french fries, breaded items, chicken nuggets, even heating up tortilla chips … its priceless! The results are much better than oven frying and its much healthier than deep frying! Plus you avoid the mess!
Here is one very similar to the simple one I use that is very cost effective, doesnt take up a lot of room and gets the job done!

Hi Barrett ..
I recently got an air fryer and love it but have a question I hope you can help me with….. Prepackaged foods don’t include air fryer directions. How do you know what cooking time & temperature to use? Thanks!
Frani
Good Question! SO for me I go with what makes logical sense. SO for example with fried pickles in a box I used the french fry setting. With Chicken patties I go 20 minutes since they are breaded like french fries etc. When in doubt you can also refer to you manual and hopefully its there. You will used to the times. When I do raw chicken I cook it 35 minutes. You can always open the drawer and check on how things are going during cooking too! Hope that helps!
Thanks Barrett .. I appreciate your advice!
