BLT with a bite out of it

90 second Italian Bun

How do I make Low carb 90 second bread?

Well, in this case it will be an easy, low carb 90 second WW friendly Italian bun! Even better, right?!

It is so hard to find low carb, low point buns in the stores.  And when you do find them they taste a lot like sawdust.  No thanks!  On a diet lifestyle we don;t like to waste points or net carbs or even calories on something that tastes terrible.  What’s the point in that?

Many of you know I combine WW (I’m on the Blue plan) with Low carb and it really has been the missing link for me!   Not only am I less hungry but I am eating healthier foods and this way of eating is talking the bloat out much easier than going with WW alone.  I’ve noticed a big difference in how and where my body is losing weight!

BLT on a 90 second bun

Why this bread is better!

This bun is so much better and here’s why!

#1 The ingredients are fresh.

#2 The ingredients are limited and recognizable.

#3 Your bun (or bread) will always be fresh.

#4 You can add any and all spices you are into.

#5 And the biggie, you have fresh hot bread in 90 seconds!

What else can I do with this bread?

I like to throw it in air Fryer to toast the bun for 30 seconds.  Comes out warm and toasty!  Its also perfect to cut in half and simply drop in the toaster.  The pictures show how I like to make it into a BLT!  Every time I serve this to guests they go crazy over the bread and bacon combo!   Sometimes I’m tempted to let them think I rolled dough and waited for the bread to proof for hours!

You can also make an amazing cheese bread with it! Just add some butter of your choice, cheese and garlic powder and pop it back in the Air Fryer for another 10 seconds or so.  Perfect cheese garlic bread!

It also makes a wonder base for a little mini pizza or as a vessel for an egg sandwich.

Sometimes I change up the flavors combinations and throw on some Rosemary with garlic and onion powder  for more of a focaccia taste.

A well seasoned slice of focaccia  is great with a salad too. Baby greens, sweet cherry tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, a little sharp cheese and your favorite vinagrette. YUM!

There is just so much you can do no matter what diet plan you are following. There are also several different versions but for me on WW low carb, I don’t mind taking a little extra points to get a satisfying, buttery bread that I truly enjoy eating!

  1. Can you put it in the toaster rather then air fryer

    • Yes, I commented in the blog toast that you could totally do that! 🙂

  2. Hi Barrett! This tastes fantastic except it is very salty to me. Did you notice that? It very well could be my taste buds. I wonder if the salt and baking powder could be reduced to help with the saltiness? Thoughts? I love your recipes

    • NO I didnt notice that at all. Are you sure you didnt use garlic salt instead of garlic powder maybe?

      • Hi! I used (unsalted) garlic powder instead of onion powder because I didn’t have onion powder. I compared the recipe for one in Pinterest and noticed your recipe calls for 1/2 tsp of salt. I made a second batch from the Pinterest recipe from Eating on a Dime and her recipe called for 1/4 tsp of salt. This reduced the saltiness. I like your recipe with the basil better❤️❤️
        Thank you!!
